(More customer reviews)The moment I saw this watch I knew I had to have it!
It was almost as if the watch was telling me: "buy me!" xD
I have owned this watch for over 4 years now and have already used it on over 50+ dives: in Belize (The Shark Canyon); at a WWII Nazi Shipwreck in Aruba; at the Hannibal Bank, in the Pacific Ocean; also at Portobello, the Caribbean and many other places. I have used this watch both in night-time dives and deep dives like 150 feet. I have also used it in surfing trips. This watch has never failed me outdoors; neither at deep Sea nor while surfing. It glows really nice at night-time; specially while diving at Deep Sea. I have had no need to use a flashlight to look at the time while diving at night.I have had to fix this watch only once in 4 years; because, it fell by accident a few times. However, the only damage it had from that accident was that the dial had rotated a millimetre to the left. Nevertheless, the watch case was still hermetic (no water has ever gotten inside). The cost of repair, at the local Victorinox dealer, was quite cheap; only about $30.Should you like to purchase this watch, for sports, I would recommend you to: change the pins once a year and, to use a rubber strap. Even though the pins are much stronger than regular watch pins; they can bend a little after a few dives or surf trips. This is due to certain movements, of the wrist, that people usually make while diving or surfing (for example: getting into a small boat (from the water), standing up on a surfboard, etc...). Rubber straps are more flexible; hence, they minimize the cumulative bending damage on the pins. Metallic straps are too rigid, creating the adverse effect. Remember that NOTHING in this World is ever "maintenance free."For diving, it is better to NOT use metals that shine so much like Gold or Silver. Because, there are some dangerous, curious fish that become interested in shining things. You wouldn't want to have a Barracuda (with really sharp teeth) getting too close to your hand! FORTUNATELY, STAINLESS STEEL DOES NOT SHINE INSIDE THE WATER. =)If you're looking for a watch that is both elegant and good for sports, this is the watch for you. If you just want elegance you might prefer another model with a metal watch band instead. As a final note: If you like to wear a rubber strap watch every day, I suggest you to put only a tiny little bit of deodorant on your wrist once a week. Deodorants are a little bit acidic; creating an environment in which bacteria cannot survive. This is a good method to prevent bad smell (caused by bacteria) when sweating.
