The watch is well made and quite hefty but I returned it since the alarm is inaudible at either bedside or in a pocket. Moreover, it can't be heard more than a foot away from my ear. According to the Wegner service rep I contacted, the alarm level is typical for this type of product. This was very puzzling to me since the appearance and objective of the watch (with the protruding buttons) makes it clearly an alarm model, rather than merely a pocket watch with an added function. If you're looking for a new pocket watch that has a sturdy, quality appearance and don't care about the alarm, get this one. But if you need a pocket watch with an audible alarm for wake-ups or reminders, look elsewhere.
