(More customer reviews)First, if you know anything about me and my interests, I seldom review anything outside the "realms" of books, movies (dvd, etc.), and musical recordings. I will also tell you here that I DO NOT wear jewelry (I find it excessive, and somehow cheap and flashy. I am a real simple guy when it comes to adornment, and jewelry just does nothing for me.
But! One DOES need to know what time it is!!! So, I DO sport this truly beautiful Swiss Army Pocket Watch!!! (and proudly, too!) I have had many many wristwatches, and every one has been scratched or worse from wearing on my arm, so years ago I gave up on that. I wore Timex pocket watches for a long time, and because they were inexpensive, I just tossed them when they needed batteries and bought a new one. Well, I don't know if they stopped making them or not, but I could not find one a year ago, so I said "OK...now or never! How long have you been wanting a real Swiss Army Watch, especially a pocket one?" [...].
Heavy, Solid, Impervious to Scratching, Smooth "All Over" to keep from snagging on stuff, and overall, quite simply...BEAUTIFUL!
You already know that Swiss Army is the most reputable makers of pocket knives, and also of superior timepieces, so I really don't have to try to sell you on that aspect. My real object here is to let you know how truly functional and well-made this watch is.
*It is the most clearly readable watch I have ever had. Period!
*It is solidly and quality-conscious constructed in Switzerland.
*It comes (at least mine did) with both an open-faced snap leather case to go over your belt, or the slip-in pocket protector to protect it from other things in your pocket.
*Like all other Swiss Army products, you KNOW it is not going to "fall apart" like so many other timepieces.
*And last, it is TRULY BEAUTIFUL to look at, and to hold in your hand...and, in my case, I always think of my Dad every time I take it out and look at it! (He always wore pocket watches.)

(The other reviewer here mentioned "no calendar date" on this watch. I find this irrelevant in the case of this item. Swiss Army makes knives and timepieces. Other companies make timepieces with calendars on them... he could have purchased one of them if he needed a calendar, too, no?)
