(More customer reviews)I purchased this watch after looking at it for a long time in the stores. I was interested in a watch that had a large face, and this watch definitely has that quality. At 43mm case diamter at it's maximum, it definitely provides a strong look. It commonly gets mistaken for watches much more expensive.
It is a beautiful watch that keeps excellent time. It has a simple, elegant design that allows it to be versitile enough to be worn in many occasions. I would recommend this watch.

Victorinox 24144 Swiss Army Maverick II Chrono Watch Review

(More customer reviews)While this watch is the "star" of my Swiss Army watch collection, it is not my favorite. Here are the pro's and con's on this watch:
The Good Stuff: The size is great, and the syle is very refined, it exudes class and taste. It gets extra points for the nearly impossible to scratch sapphire crystal. It is accurate and dependable.
The Not-So-Good: With it's great big face, it is suprizingly difficult to ready. The concentric circle pattern machined into the face and subdials causes a lot of glare. The second hand (the sub-dial at 6 o'clock) is nearly invisible. The teeny date window (at 4:30) gets completely lost and NEEDS magnifier window. While this watch is "manlier" and "classier", I wear my 10+ year old Swiss Army Lancer much more often, just because it is easier to see. If the face of the Maverick II had a matte finish, and the date display was readable, this would be a much more useful watch.

(More customer reviews)This is my second swiss army chronograph. I received one as a gift ten years ago and wore it every day since. I never had a problem with my old Swiss Army, but was ready for a change.
The maverick has a nice weight, it is very comfortable, and generally offers a great combination of quality price and value. Its classic look makes it the kind of watch that you can wear anywhere, and it is durable, so you don't have to worry about it getting scratched or banged up. I have had no problems so far, and find the alarm feature very handy.
The one thing I will say is that this is a BIG watch. I was a little surprised by how big it was when I tried it on. Until I was used to it, I thought it might be a little too flashy for a mid-priced watch. Once I got it fitted and got comfortable with it, that was not as much of a concern. Even so, it is probably really only suited for someone with a big frame - and would probably not look right on smaller guys.

(More customer reviews)Received my 70998 as a gift. This is my third Wenger watch and I find it accurate, easy to use and attractive for the price shown here. Accuracy conforms to my expectations developed from owning two other Wenger watches. The band catch mechanism takes some time to get used to (clips shut in three stages), but it's solid, and the band has never come undone unexpectedly.
This watch is expensive- and formidable-looking, though because the case is on the large side, I can't recommend it to thin men (which I no longer am) as it will make your arms look small. You will have to go to a small watch repair shop to have links removed as my band was originally large enough for Sasquatch. Dial is navy blue in sunlight, not black, contrary to Amazon's description.

My favorite by far out of three swiss army watches that I have. Perfect for most occasions, whether business casual or otherwise. I am not a careful user, still, it looks no different than the day I bought it. The crystal saphire does wonders. Highly recommended for its price, quality and simplicity. Take the plunge too, you will not regret it. Just try not to be in the same room that I'm in !!!

In total darkness you can see close to 13 feet in front of you. The watch looks super cool. Only issue I have is that the "backlight" "Led" button is too easy to push, and the backlight is lighting up quite often when I do not need it.

It lasted a good 3 years until I had the crystal replaced (my friend smashed his higher end sapphire watch into mine). Sent it in to Swiss army and after a few months of using it I noticed water leakage. It went away and I changed the battery and had the seals replaced (warranty already gone). Leakage persisted every 6 months or so. Fast fwd to 5 years after purchase and the watch is worse as I can't close the screw-in winder without preventing the watch from coming to a complete stop. A friend said rather than fix this old timer for $100, settle for a new citizen eco. either that or seiko diver watch. I expected much more durability from this to be honest. good while it lasted...

(More customer reviews)I had a similar experience as the first review posted. The first one worked for a while and then the second hand would hang up on the minute hand. I returned the first one and its replacement clouded up as it was taking on water. I returned the second one and I am still shopping for a similar watch but not this one. Too bad as I really liked the style and fit of this watch. Hopefully Wenger will resolve these issues in the future.

She has long wanted a Swiss Army watch and she prefers the larger face to the tiny windows that are typical of watches for women. She is a flight attendant, so she actually uses her watch when traveling, not just for another piece of decoration. So far, she has been very pleased.
Although not my style personally, I believe this watch would be suitable for younger women where this size is more fashionable or for any woman who prefers a larger than normal watch face. Quality of the piece and the presentation of the packaging were very good.
The Amazon store from whom this watch was purchased, "MrWatch" I think, sent the item on time and used postal tracking so I could keep an eye out for it. I believe they have a 10% restocking fee for returns, which I am not crazy about, but understand. I do not believe they charge a restocking fee on exchanges, which is acceptable.
